Hey peeps, this blog post will be delicated to I Am @ Youth.SG.
I AM refers to none other than DL, me =) and I am still a youth born in Singapore. So, all the above is eqivalent to I Am @ Youth.SG.
Hence, this entry will be about me and my country, Singapore. =). A tour on Singapore in my blog. Plus, some history lessons on SG.

To begin with, I shall start on the speciality of this special dot on the map, Singapore. One of the hallmark of Singapore will be its delicacies and how would it be linked to me? Ok, it will be the delicacies in Singapore that I love most. It will be none other than Soup Restaurant’s Samsui Ginger Chicken. As the title suggests, it will be something related to Samsui woman?
Some History
Samsui woman fondly being named as "MA JIE" actually plays a significant role in Singapore’s History. They are actually worked together with men in construction sites in the olden days.[Wow] Aren’t they strong mentally and physically? They remain single because having married will mean losing their independence. The sufferings they have gone through will be something that we should admire them for. Hence, they are role models for not only women but also for the general population of Singapore in this modern world. The weak must not give up and the strong will continue to perserve to scale the ladder of success. Talking about them, they normally live on with simple meals. Their usual meals will be either a cup of milo with biscuits or just a plate of rice with some vegetables. Being thifty and hardworking are two outstanding values of the Samsui Women. However, having only simple meals does not meant that they cannot cook. They are actually good in preparing sumptuous food. One of their speciality that impressed me thoroughly will be none other than Samsui Ginger Chicken as what I have mentioned earlier on. U can find this dish in Soup Restaurant. Since I love to eat, I roughly know how the dish is cooked. My guess on how the dish is prepared- The chicken is being steamed or boiled 1st to cook the chicken partially. Then the chicken will then be left in hot water to cook the chicken slowly and to prevent it from being overcooked. Then, it is being placed in a pail of *cold water. It is important here, same concept in cooking nice noodles, cold water plays a very important role.

The steam chicken will then be served together with pounded ginger. Ginger and Chicken is the best combination. It totally rocks. That is our wonderful Samsui Ginger Chicken, what the Samsui woman will eat during the annual Chinese New Year or on days where they considered as big event? Nice creation from them. So, they contribute to our food industry largely too. Actually many of our delicacies found here is the contributions of our ancestors. Hence, SG is one of the best place one can consider if one is looking for good food.

Next, we shall look into BOOKS. Talking about our local production or our local authors. I have one in mind. My favourite is none other than Russell Lee. Why? His stories are interesting, short and attention capturing. If u do not know, he is the author for True Singapore Ghost Stories. I am proud to say I love his stories and they are selling like hot cakes. I see the book grown from book 1 to book 15 now. His books can be considered as Almost completed collection of Singapore’s ghost story. Why? simply because his writers are heartlanders like u and me. To pen all the ghost stories himself will be impossible and perhaps dry. So, I concur with his ideas of collecting stories from all parts of Singapore.
What is so interesting abt these books? - They are 1stly short and more importantly, easy to read. Reading the books from Russell will enable one to be equipped with some supernatural knowledge . The world does not revolve around 8-5 office work or eat , sleep everyday. It makes me realised that there are many more things in our round Earth. So, if u are not a hardcore reader and wants to kill time, TSGS will be a good choice. If u are a hardcore reader, TSGS is also the ultimate choice. It is just my favourite.

Pen this entry @ 1.50am on 30 December is actually fun… The night is cooling and as I write on, my eyes are shutting …=) I think, I write, I feel and I form this entry. Its just my way of writing, my style and my creation in my own words. They are thrilling. I really cannot imagine writing these posts in own words is more exciting compared to writing an essay.Why? because in blogs, we write according to how we feel, how we like, what we want. Its DIY. These words and sentences just blurted out of my brains and I just wrote them in proper sentences here.

Cool…my 1st ever wordy and lengthy post with the feel of my heart. It rocks seriously. Ok, keep my fingers crossed for the ipods, psp??…..;=) [laughs]

Yoz, i love to eat and guess many love to see. Now, see what I got to show below.

Dim Sum lover - Mirama Hotel @ $13.90++++ (buffet) eat until u full and had a lot of dim sum to choose from. Jus need $20 per person.

Western Food - Botak Jones @ Clementi (depends what u order, is at a coffeeshop, pricing is between $6 to $10)

Wanton Mee - Heeren @ $2.80 per bowl with fried and boiled wanton. Situated outside 77th street or u can go to bugis rockery cafe..is between sim lim and bugis street @ $3.00. Speciality=homemade noodles. both are homemade and taste equally good.

*Rojak- this is a must try. The stall has appeared on TV before and is very popular among people who lives near the stall or who knows abt the stall. The stall selling rojak is situated at Toa Pao Yo HDB HUB food court @ basement. Pricing $2,3,4,5. Specialty = rojak with lots of peanuts, some kang kong and some cuttefish. very nice and crunchy. U have to take queue number if u are there.

La Mian - Crystal Jade’s la mian will be the right choice.. Why? because their la mian is handmade and hence more smooth. I like their xiao long bao too….its rox. Try their Beef la mian, they rox or their sichuan la mian…rocks too.

Steam white chicken - The best so far i have eaten will be the ones at soup restaurant. Their samsui ginger chicken is one of the nicest …eat it with their olive rice and soup. Yummy.

Ice-cream - Scoopz durian ice-cream. the best choice for me now. It tastes like real durian w a cooler temperature. It totally rocks

Hi peeps, i guess it has been raining and raining since last monday? That sux ? No sun = no suntan…No sun= no mood to go out ya?

Lately had been really busy and working really hard. I oso muz start some A level revision….see how la..no mood for ktv lately…… Jus done some iron-on street style polo tees…lol…my friends even ask me when i buy those polo tees…i guess its my creativity..I jus have the idea and i jus embark on it….Those logos really rox…..make the polo tee damn nice…….My 1 and only unique polo tee tat u cannot find else where…but there are some ppl who are better than me…the boss selling those told me some bought $50 worth of logos from her….tat is abt 10 logos…i had 4 with me now…3 had been used…steady and nice..

To start, today went to Vivo City with JC brothers- Louis, SF and WC. It has been a long time since i see sf and wc, due to army commitment. Louis will be again my uni classmate. Me lucky yea? thanks god…cos he is my best friend in JJC…oh yes, today went to golden village at vivo to catch a movie…forget the title but it goes something like this - In the museum…….. Anyway, I enjoy KTV, SWIMMING, GYM, CYCLING, SLACKING, TASTING but not movie…I jus dun enjoy movie..why? I think it is a plain waste of money… $10 for jus 1 1/2 hour and the story line is so short…Instead, I like to buy VCD…I can watch them again and again…I dunnoe but that is how i feel..so when louis told me abt the movie thingy, i am quite reluctant but i cannot pang sah them la…..

After movie, we went to shop awhile and some areas…and we went to toast box to eat..Hey, i am quite excited cos i always wanted to try Ya Kun..We queue for awhile…..the Q was very long…and i tasted their thick toast with peanut butter…..and happily we ate the eggs…

JY, my army buddy, is now in Taipei. I guess he will enjoy himself now… This buddy of mine is considered one of my vvv best friend..always go out with me, talk the most with me………common hobbies and habits…..kind-hearted and someone who will not betray me…..lucky to know him…..

Pat’s wedding
Haven’t pen a post on Pat’s wedding the other day..15 DEC…The day was SUPER FUN. We all clad smartly though I tot mine is the best (lol)……..oh yes, without Cleve, Clark presence will be a total different thing..with them, we went from table to table to toast…. 1st to encik, then to richard…to mr tang and all friends tooo…Those that treat us damn well during NS esp ENCIK TAN……We toast to him and tat night really rocks…………..Over the years, all my seniors, juniors were all present and we chat and chat………fun fun fun…..SEE U GUYS SOON IN MAHJONG SESSION and i will show once again my "qing yi se" power…..which u guys fear…lol..but who knows when will be the next…

I hope happiness will last forever….god bless everyone..

oh yes, cousin lynn muz be in bangkok…hope she enjoys herself….

Yoz, it has been long since i posted. Busy. Lazy. Occupied. 3 words.

K, to get started…today went to soup restaurant to taste their food once again since the tasty treat months ago. Their superb samsui ginger chicken, olive rice, lingzhi soup, deer meat and tofu is simply wad a family longed for..So homely and traditional.

We had our lunch there…….i nearly forget tat today is christmas eve………….i will organise some countdown next time….to celebrate it with my family and friends….this round….my friend- Jy, going to taiwan..envy…..so fun n refreshing and he even can watch the new year countdown at taiwan…woohoo. U can see celebrities like FIR, JOLIN, YAN ZI AND MANY MANY MORE THERE. Taiwan celebrates their new year countdown vvvvv grandly….

Today has been great. Mummy is nice to treat us and she even bought my fav durian scoopz ice-cream.

Oh, she cooks some tasty noodles and is in front of me..I shan’t continue.

hAllo, lately sun has been very strong. Woohoo~ Strong Sun = Suntan. Went Suntanning again on wednesday…needless to say, tat’s my hobby. I guess sun gives one’s life. With sun, it provides one with energy and a nice skin colour. Oh ya, my skin color is golden brown now with the magical power of my golden tanning oil……I am golden…..crossed away the past dark tanned….

Sushi
Yesterday oso bought some f’iesta sushi home…i guess their takeaway sushi is more tasty than their converyer belt?..ya, that my 2 cent worth of opinion. I am a fan of sakae sushi because they simply taste good, fresh and hot. I jus love the taste of washabi.

Star awards
I guess many people watch our SG very own TV grand ceremony. Of cos i am not those siao-on people who go down to support…I am jus one of the passive viewers who stay at home to watch..oso due to my tight schedule… Jessica Liu dressed the best….i think she is simply the most pretty girl tat day. Ok, this topic is getting plain.

Ok, after getting my tanned skin….i muz concentrate on car driving now. Did some U TURN..well done and my on the road is quite good…jus need to learn more parking…tat’s all and my circuit…..worrying………..

Goonnna taste my mum’s steamboat……oh yea, longed for ktv……hope to go one with cousin lynn…her vocals simply great…see how……………………….
Pat’s wedding is on friday ……wonder how it will be liked…more imptly, is my sharkfin and the cold dish…….lol~

Hey Hey Hey…as my title suggests….material comfort. Yes, tat day went to Vivo city n Bugis street with jy and ken. Rocks sia….actually wanted to buy a shirt..a formal long sleeve one…Went to a lot of place and really searching high and low for the right one..My proms i rush and get a set from topman and i was not tat satify and i am proud to say I am very satify with the shirt tat i bought…nicez~~~oso bought a black v neck t-shirt from topman…love it….20% discount…lol!!!Lunch was at long john silver, a short and simple meal~oh, yes saw my pri sch classmate too…at the shirt shop tat i bought my long sleeve daniel hecter shirt…she notices me u know…lol

Later on, went to bugis, i suggest to go there…cos there is more shops and more pattern of stuff there…..as compared to vivo…….went to parco 1st…then actually wanted to buy a logo….i knew 77th street sells them…it ranges from $4-$20…..tat is expensive for JUST AN IRON-ON logo….expensive..and i nearly want to settle with the $4.90..so so logo……lucky me, did not get it….Then as we shop and shop and finishes parco……..we went to bugis street…and i turn my head left and AHA..i saw a shop tat sells a wide variety of logo, nicer than 77th street ones and cheaper by 10x….i got mine!! yes…..i wanted to go there to get more..those rank and army logos…rocks…street style rox.

Then when to sim lim..it was boring……and ken left 1st at 8pm and me and junyu ate the ever-famous rockary WANTON MEE…the wanton mee is home-made!!! Oso, bought a brickston fav slipper…lol……….at a good price…lol @ bugis!!! =)))

Ok, tat’s all as i dun have the mood to type…sorrli for the messy post….

Hallo, how’s life recently? =)

It has been a fulfilling life for me, enriching myself w facts, friends gathering, swimming, suntan, gym as well as shopping.
Life has been very packed esp with the addition in my life (shall not say it now till future).
As i said from the previous post..the next will be on BOTAK JONES.

Botak Jones- dun be tricked by its name. Its name suggested some where very classy? No it is not, at least for the one in clementi. We went to clementi botak jones. Maybe, only the clementi’s botak jones is located in a coffeeshop? I dunnoe, as i have not visited the rest of their brances or their main outlet.

We went there, they lay many bottles of sauces…1st plus points for botak jones..U can choose to complement your main course with their varieties of sauses ranging from BBQ SAUCE, HEINZ MUSTARD, CHILL N TOMATO OR EVEN THE STEAK SAUCE. I love the mustard most….mustard w sausages simply tasty.

I chose their cajun chicken. It is very juicy, soft and filled w BBQ taste. Their BBQ sauce enhances the taste. GREAT and u know wad, can u imagine breast meat to be juicy??? They used breast meat from chicken and it is juicy 100%…..Tasty…. Oh, the whole coffeeshop is filled w many many ppl, ppl queueing and ppl searching for place ….everyone is jus tasting botak jone’s food!

We were chatting away…and i was simply puzzled when no one actually asked us if we want to drink anything or wad…so, out of kindness, i decided to order for myself and my friends…since they are my vvvv good buddies, decided to treat them drinks.I paid $50 to the lady and she gave me $3.40 change…She quickly asked me to go and sit…lucky me, i am clever and not tricked by her…Sometimes one can get confused and just go, only to realise later which is too late…i confronted her straight……she returns me additional $40….heng ar…

We ate happily and guess wad i cannot even finish 1 regular meal..it too filling…the fries it too much. Thanks wilbur for preordering…hence, our foods come vv fast..unlike others, waited for so long.

Rating to Botak Jones Cajun Chicken -8/10 mainly for the juiceness and the variety of sauces.

I am mentally exhausted and waiting for a call from my friend which is so long….That’s all…..need to rest.

Wishlist.
I have to get a shirt for patrick’s wedding..feel like getting one too. @ vivocity perhaps?
A slipper… at bugis?

Since I am so impressed with their cooking skills, this post will be delicated to them…

Went there, their service so so…however i give them 9.5/10. Why? Their cooking skills make up everything. Their beef w ginger, chicken w oats as well as their fish soup is simply tasty and cheap…esp the beef….equivalent to wad i eat at plane last time…All tat make it up for their poor service…Their rice is good tooo….though plain rice is tasteless but the texture counts…some restuarant or stall try to save money and use low grade rice..hence, their rice is hard….Qi Lin’s rice is soft and nice….

Price for 3 dishes = $17 for 3 ppl….

Cheap rite?

Swimming
Went swimming todae…swam for 24 laps……deproved from my usual but tat is already a great achievement for slacking so long….apply some golden tanning oil and went to suntan too…The sun was cool 100/100…it was blazing and i love sun!
Needless to say, i have a nice tan now. =)
Now, looking forward to Botak Jones w army buddies….and perhaps the next post will be on botak jones??

Have made many friends -worthy or not worthy….over the years..be it in pri, yhss, jjc……jobs…..ns….
So touched to be remembered by my juniors over yhss…IN YHSS, is the sch and the best place where i know many many many ppl, seniors, juniors…this led me to think abt the days tat i speak to someone i like at the YHSS MAIN GATE….we were prefects tat time….and me happily chatting w a cute girl -yun..wonder how is she…the days at east coast rollerblading…and bumber car, she sits with me were the most memoral days in my life…I cannot forget those days…THEY ROX…. Pray for yun and every thing to go well for her…i neva regret knowing u and i jus wanna be ur friend once again…hope to meet sooonnnn……hope so….yun rocks. N remember the days we dance at yhss stage…yun was my partner…we dance and some fuker lost the video (sad!)……….. principal even wanted us to go outside to perform to earn money for the schoolll…..they said it has fusion..not forgetting the good old days…the dance involved a large group of friends….the theme was indian dance…and we did many modifications…….it was named grand finale later on…and i think i done well…Yun was good, she was my best partner…this good memory will be imprinted on me forever….Missing yun…how are u?

Many happy memo and unhappy memo…chose the happy ones…and my mind filled w golden memories…..
